Yarcowie Hotel

Yarcowie Hotel
Second Street WHYTE YARCOWIE . Phone: 08 8659 1131

Whyte Yarcowie was surveyed in 1875, another result of the agriculturalists' need for land further and further north.

The railway station was built in 1880 and Whyte Yarcowie was a good example of a bustling railway town in the early 1900s. The town had a flour mill, schools, hotels and an Anglican Church which, at the time, was reported to be the smallest in Australia.

With a population of 119 in 2006 and an hotel, this tiny town between Hallett and Terowie is close to the facilities of Peterborough and is surrounded by the magnificent scenery of the Mid North.
