Pekina Hotel

Pekina Hotel
Tarcowie Road PEKINA . Phone:

In 1846 Pekina Station, a large and profitable sheep run, became a stopping point for the coaches between the mines of Blinman and Burra.

As a result of the agriculturalists' push north created by the Strangways Act the hundred of Pekina was declared in 1871, on the very edge of Goyder's Line.

Nestled amongst hills, on the road between Appila and Orroroo, this attractive little town has  the now empty but original the general store, built in 1875. The Hotel was built in 1877.
